Margaret Yuen, Director of the Red Silk Dancers, gave a storytelling in Chinese dance virtual workshop as part of Think!Chinatown's Tuan Yuan Homecoming New Year Activities.
In Chinese classical dancing, the elegance of the art form is created by the use of the torso – fingers, wrists, eyes, neck, arms, spine - with the hands making specific gestures to tell a story. In this virtual class, you will learn a short dance sequence that will transport you to China’s classical age.
The workshop is free/pay-as-you wish. All ages and abilities are welcome; no previous dance experience required.
Sunday, February 21, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm
